Talk about Influencers! Counting upwards of 400 US colleges and universities as members from almost every state in the Union, the American College Dance Association — ADCA — touches the lives of tens of thousands of people every year.
Recognized and respected by the largest universities, the smallest colleges, and higher ed institutions of all sizes in between, ACDA serves as the country’s premier national membership service organization strengthening the educational network for students and faculty in dance and in business as well.
Hundreds of thousands of people agree: there is nothing else like ACDA. It’s the perfect corporate sponsorship opportunity.
The American College Dance Association began as the brainchild of three college and university dance educators who set out in 1971 to create a national organization that would sponsor regional dance conferences at the college and university level, along with national dance festivals.
Success came quickly and is lasting. Today, ACDA directly supports dance in higher education all across the United States, through a sophisticated series of educational initiatives, regional conferences, a unique 2-year cycle adjudication process for measuring student achievement, and the highly anticipated standing-room-only ACDA biennial national festivals at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.
Almost 12,000 dancers have attended ACDA conferences across 13 regions in 2017 and 2018. Hundreds more will present work at the June 7-9, 2018 National College Dance Festival in Washington, D.C. to sold-out audiences at the Kennedy Center.
All told, over 350 universities and colleges will be participating, with 50,000 or more individuals participating, and a reach to hundreds of thousands of people loyal to dance education and the sponsors who support this one-of-a-kind Performing Arts national enterprise.
“For only the second time in 25 years, two choreographed works from Emory University students were featured in the American College Dance Association’s South Conference. ‘This is one of the highest recognitions a university dance program can receive,’ says Sally Radell, professor and interim director of the Emory Dance Program.”
