What Is Happening.
…As one of America’s few nonprofit promoters of ballet and contemporary dance by creators and performers respected outside the US but who are generally unknown here, the National Performing Arts Funding Exchange is arranging a May 2025 performance tour, in New York City at a preferred theater to be announced shortly and on May 21 at Washington DC’s Kennedy Center, of Italy’s imPerfect Dancer Company’s internationally acclaimed “Anne Frank: Words From The Shadows”.

…Created by Europe’s award-winning choreographers Ina Broeckx and Walter Matteini at the helm of imPerfect Dancers Company, “Anne Frank: Words from the Shadows” is a one-of-a-kind inspirational tribute to a young woman’s life and especially to Frank’s spiritual strength during one of the 20th century’s darkest moments.

…At a time when Holocaust education is more important than ever, this imPerfect Dancers Company original brings Frank’s story to life through the power of dance, reaching audiences in ways words alone cannot.

…This powerful and moving dance production takes the audience back in time: after the liberation of Auschwitz, Anne’s father, the Frank family’s only survivor, returns to the secret annex where the family had been hidden, where he is then given his daughter’s diary. In the diary, he discovers sides of her personality that he did not know or expect and finds himself reliving not only the time when they went into hiding but also the tragic events that followed.
…As audiences on three continents have also relived the light and darkness of Anne’s existence as they witnessed the eloquence and intimacy of “Anne Frank: Words From The Shadows”.
