Why Arts on Site is changing NYC for the better…
Be active, be positive, be passionate … Do everything you can to raise awareness of the Performing Arts!
Arts on Site? We’re all about supporting space for artists with two large studios in the Manhattan’s East Village and two large studio spaces at a retreat center in Kerhonkson, New York, two hours north of the City.
Our Artist R&R Residency Program meets a critical need, providing uninhibited creative space for artists … precious time and space apart from the daily distractions of the frantic NYC life … to unravel … to let your inventive impetus lead you to someplace unknown … to create art that brings forth all our hidden and untamed views ….
Arts on Site in NPAFE’s words…
Arts on Site is changing the New York City performance space scene for good. How? Three words: innovation, determination, and creation.
Arts on Site is a non profit organization that gathers the unseen artists of New York City and provides them with a platform to be seen. From musicians to dancers to theater artists, performers from all across the boroughs gather to bask in the genius that is Arts on Site.
Created by Executive Director Chelsea Ainsworth, Arts on Site stops at nothing to support the growth of the performing artist community. A Juilliard grad, Chelsea has worked with the best artists around the globe. Her expertise in business and the performing arts makes her the perfect catalyst for the seismic shift in NYC’s art culture.
Chelsea’s sheer power in the performing arts can be cited as the driving force for the Arts on Site success. What started as a party to showcase artists has transformed into two studio spaces in East Village, a residency program, and sold out shows week after week.
The residency program, Arts on Site Residency and Retreat, is a week-long experience in upstate New York designed to cultivate creativity outside of bustling city life. Any artist, from dance, music, theater, visual arts, and more are welcome to this creative sanctuary. This innovative form of residency only speaks to the remarkable originality that Arts on Site encourages.
An arts administration mastermind, Chelsea understands that art is larger than ourselves. She created Arts on Site to give a platform for the artists around NYC who have beauty to share, but no one to share it with. Chelsea’s philanthropic nature has transformed the lives of dozens who have performed at an Arts on Site party.
Even during a time where art seems impossible to share, Arts on Site has found a way to combat that. To keep the artistry alive, the performance parties have seamlessly moved online to a virtual space. NPAFE can confirm that the magic of Arts on Site remains alive, even online!
