Showing How Powerful Dance Can Be.
A Laser Focus On Empowering Young Women Through Movement.
Sarah Hirsch in her own words…
…
I aim to create dance that evokes feelings and stories people can relate to, so people can feel heard and understood through movement.
Dance is a way for us to say through movement all those words we struggle to say out loud.
I truly believe dance should be accessible to everyone, not only to help us connect with others but to connect even more with ourselves.
Sarah Hirsch in NPAFE’s words…
…Originally from Miami, Florida and now a London-based professional dancer and new on the scene as choreographer and producer, Sarah Hirsch first found her way to Italy to begin her dance education there. Having then trained with numerous international dance companies, today she is serving the UK dance community as founder of the Contemporary Dance Method, offering ballet and contemporary dance lessons for all levels in West London.
...There’s a lot more to the Sarah Hirsch story. A lot more. “Always on the lookout to connect with people and to learn from others!” With this as her moniker, Hirsch progresses in her professional career and applies this rule in the dance world. She is particularly interested in methods and opportunities to continue to share her work.
…One of the significant past projects where she was hired as an actor and was part of a cast was the impressive short 10-minute film “Hidden”. And we mean impressive: now with more than 80K views on YouTube, “Hidden” reveals a compelling story about the hidden symptoms of multiple sclerosis.
…Dance is not the only aspect of Hirsch’s form of self-expression, and she definitely doesn’t sit still. Quite the opposite: she hustles, always showing how much dance can do for people…for you. She is especially passionate about working in opera, where her experience includes performing in various works including at the Royal Opera House in London.
…In May 2024, Hirsch’s focus turned to creating a piece that emphasizes female strength, beauty, and resilience, giving it the title “Adira” – meaning strong, noble and powerful. She describes the impressive women involved in this dance piece with the same words: strong, noble and powerful. Her long-term goal for “Adira” is to create a condensed version of the piece to tour in schools as a vehicle for providing free training and help empower young women and girls through movement.
… Hirsch recognizes the merits and the difficulties of being a professional dancer: “The dance world is tough, competitive and unforgiving in spite of the beauty and joy it can deliver. I believe dance has plenty to offer even in difficult times, when used correctly.”
…The bottom line? Sarah Hirsch’s qualities as a human being and as a dancer lie in her strong commitment to use her knowledge of dance and arts to help people and to touch them with her imagination, her creativity, her drive, and her generosity. She is indeed driven, to continue teaching dance, performing, and choreographing.
