Thea Martin in NPAFE’s words…

…A 12-year-old ballet student from Wales, UK, Thea Martin is one of those exceptional young students of dance with the passionate inner drive to persevere that so impresses NPAFE. In a word, she is a dedicated and hardworking dancer with a strong desire to achieve excellence and be recognized for it.

…Thea started dancing at the age of 3 and has continued non-stop ever since. Her dedication and hard work are remarkable: her creative and learning journey has included performances and workshops with the best among European and British companies, including with the Paris Opera, the Welsh National Opera, the Jamiel Laurence Creations production of Nutcracker, and the Royal Ballet School.

…Much more can be said about Thea. In recognition of her dedication to art and her desire to help other students study ballet, she was among the handful of “Child of Britain Awards” winners in 2023, honored as “The Child of Britain Young Performer”. She was also awarded an NPAFE grant to help cover the costs for attending the November 2023 Ballet Grand Prix competition in Dundee, Scotland.

…Ballet is not just a dance form for Thea. It is a language of her emotion and expression. Every evening, she practices in her room before competitions or performances, does rehearsals of choreography, stretches, or creates new parts of the dance piece. Her grace and precision in this classical art form leaves a lasting impression on all who are fortunate enough to witness her in classes, workshops, and performances.  

…There’s more. Thea’s true affection for the performing arts and more reaches to playing the piano, singing, and modelling with Gym Central Cardiff. She’s quite keen to concede that her inspiration and motivation come from creative people with whom she works, as well as from her favorite movie called “Ballerina”.

…Thea’s journey into the pre-professional dance world is just beginning. To us and many others, her future appears undoubtedly bright. With each audition, performance, and competition, Thea will continue to captivate audiences and inspire those around her, as a living testament to the idea that age should never be an obstacle on the path to realizing one’s dreams.
