Tienne Campbell in her own words…
If you open my heart you will see a dream uncrushed by time.
…
Not many things in life are constant. People come and go. Everything is always changing. Dance will always be there for me. It is my safe space, something that makes me truly happy. I will always keep the joy of dance in my heart.
…
Some people may watch dance and only think of the years of blood, sweat and tears dedicated to bringing minutes of magic to an audience. However they may not see the happiness, security and purpose being on stage gives those performing, and for me that is the true magic of dance.
Tienne Campbell in NPAFE’s words…
...Immerse yourself in a one-of-a-kind journey into the world of ballet and contemporary dance – a series of elegant, captivating, and superb London ballet performances! But that is not the main topic. Our spotlight here is on a passionate young dance artist, Tienne Campbell, who by happy chance NPAFE CEO, Cliff Brody got to meet after a Jamiel Laurence-Devernay Ballet Nights performance in London on February 23 & 24, 2024.
…Campbell was introduced to NPAFE by acclaimed UK choreographer Jordan James Bridge, her teacher and mentor, as a brilliantly talented ballet student, hard-working and highly motivated.
…There is a lot to say about Campbell and her talent. She is an aspiring ballerina who attends normal school during the day and then makes the time on her own time to attend training at the likes of the Masters of Ballet Academy in London and the Royal Ballet School.
…The list of the competitions, international scholarships, and awards that 14-year-old Campbell has already earned is impressive, arguably the would-be envy of a professional twice her age. Just as examples, she has been successful in a number of local competitions including the Ballet Grand Prix in Scotland, the Performance Platform, and Global Dance Open England Qualifiers where she won two silver medals and was also selected as a nominee for Performer of the Globe. Of note: Campbell was selected as one of approximately 250 finalists to compete in one of the major international competitions in Florida, the March 2024 Youth International Ballet Competition.
…Choreographer Bridge confirms that Campbell’s progress is remarkable despite her lack of private lessons and in-person classes that so many other ballet students get to attend. No wonder: her daily schedule starts from 6:30 am where she is already at her first dance self-practice session before regular classes at school and then, after school, supplementing her training with online lessons.
…Until recently, Campbell had never experienced dance styles other than ballet and had always studied traditional ballet up until about 6 months ago when she met Bridge and started taking contemporary classes with him. She was completely fascinated by Bridge’s movements as they were so different from what she had been studying up until then. So she started learning and practicing with Bridge because she wanted to explore and expose herself more.
…Bridge truly believes in Tienne’s potential as a star of tomorrow. Campbell says that she is so grateful to be supported by Bridge and by Ballet Nights. For our part, we are equally grateful to have the chance to know Tienne and to be aware of her passion for dance and her determination to succeed. You will be impressed, too, when you review these stills and watch her videos.
